High speed in Spain begin in 1992 with the line Madrid Sevvilla of 471 km with a travel time of 2,50 h.

Acctually the project is the new line Madrid Barcellona, opened in 2003 untill Lleida. che è aperta dall'ottobre 2003 fino a Lleida, e verrà ultimata per il 2007.
